Social network Facebook and search engine Google want to make is easier for users to find and stream music from their services, reports Rolling Stone.
Google is expected to reveal a “more efficient way” of finding, streaming, and learning about music. Google will reportedly link with music sites like Lala, iLike, and Imeem. A 30-second stream, or even a full track, will show up when a song is searched for, Rolling Stone continues.
Facebook is developing a way for users to send songs as gifts to online friends. Users on Facebook can currently send icons to each other. Now, after a deal with music site Lala, users will be able to send a song stream to their friends for 10 cents. For one dollar, the song can be downloaded and imported into iTunes or other music players.
